62 of the 251 licensed assisted living facilities in Broward County hold a memory care designation with the State of Florida. A memory care unit cares for residents with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias — which means secured exits, staff trained for cognitive impairment, and, ideally, clinical oversight. It also means residents who often cannot advocate for themselves, which is why the state's inspection record matters more here than anywhere else in senior care.

For each facility below we show what the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration has actually recorded: the license status, how many deficiencies inspectors cited per 100 licensed beds, every fine and legal action with its case number, and whether the facility reports nurse availability. Of the 62 memory care facilities in Broward County, 59 report some form of nurse availability and 57 have an emergency generator on record — a requirement Florida takes seriously since the deaths at a Hollywood facility after Hurricane Irma in 2017.
